One of my coworkers, Cat, recently sent this email:
It’s easy to get caught up in the (inevitable) negative things that occur in a startup that we often don’t take 30 seconds to express gratitude as often as we should. We create bonus incentives, Employee of the Month programs, and other elaborate ways to recognize accomplishments but often it’s comments like this, that matter most.
It’s the small signs of appreciation that can have a large impact on moral, motivation, and overall happiness.
