The other day I received this notification from Instagram:
My immediate reaction is, “Andrew just joined Instagram!? JUST. JOINED. INSTAGRAM??? This must be a bug, right?”
After a few deep breaths, I collect myself and the disbelief fades. Reality sets in. And then I thank Instagram.
Thanks for reminding me I’m not normal. Living in Silicon Valley and working in this tech bubble is consuming. We live and breath technology, living on the cusp of innovation, playing with new products daily. But 99% of America, let alone the world, doesn’t live or think like us. Sometimes it’s easy to lose touch of “normal” life, blinded by the problems and realities of the 99%.
So remember, silicon valley friends: We’re not normal.
(Also, thanks Kevin Li for the reminder.)
