Immense value is created and big businesses are born by reducing inefficiencies. I know I’m not saying anything new but to illustrate, here are a few examples:

• Twitter enables information and communication to travel faster and more broadly.


• Toyota sells quality vehicles cheaper and makes them faster through lean manufacturing.


• Google indexes the web to make it easier to search and find information.


• Unity reduces the cost and effort to create 3D, cross-platform games.

A few days ago I chatted with Joe Stump on Twitter about communication, related to a topic he spoke about earlier in the day at the Startup Product Summit. IMO, communication or more specifically, knowledge-transfer, is incredibly inefficient and one of the biggest opportunities to improve the human race.

Imagine the impact of improving the efficiency of knowledge-transfer by just 10%. Or more.

If you were to make just ONE thing more efficient, what would that be?
